Bible Reading: Genesis 27:13–27; Psalm 66:9–12
Memory Verse: “Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.” (Psalm 66:12)
It is not in human nature to love the process. We all want progress, success, and breakthroughs, but few are willing to go through the stages God has ordained. Yet, in the divine order, rejecting the process is the surest way to delay or even destroy progress.
Think about it: a child born with full teeth, walking and talking from day one, would not be a blessing but a distortion of nature. Growth must follow the pattern God designed — step by step, season by season. The same is true for your spiritual journey.
🔹 The Five Stages of God’s Process (Psalm 66)
The psalmist reveals the divine progression every believer must undergo:

The Net – God captures us in His love and mercy so that we can no longer escape His call. This is where surrender begins.

The Burden Stage – God teaches us responsibility. Like a yoke upon our shoulders, He trains us to carry spiritual weight and grow in maturity.

Men Over Us – Sometimes, God allows others to have authority over us. This stage produces submission, humility, and obedience — virtues we cannot learn otherwise.

The Fire and Water – Seasons of affliction, trials, and pressure. Here, character is refined, faith is tested, and endurance is built.

The Wealthy Place – At last, God brings us into rich fulfillment, where His promises are fully manifested.
Every shortcut to destiny bypasses one of these stages, and shortcuts always end in long-term pain.
🔹 Jacob: A Cautionary Example
Jacob’s story illustrates what happens when we resist God’s process. Though Rebecca had already received a word from God about Jacob’s destiny, both she and Jacob schemed to “help” God by deceiving Isaac.
The result? Jacob lived in exile for over 20 years, suffering under Laban, before he could taste the blessing that was already his by divine promise. If only he had trusted the process, he would have avoided years of regret and sorrow.
🔹 Trust God’s Timing
Child of God, trust the process. Do not rush God. His promises never require manipulation or deceit. If it seems delayed, wait. If the journey feels long, endure. The same God who allows the net, the burden, the fire, and the water is the same God who faithfully leads you into the wealthy place.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.” (Psalm 23:2).
God’s process always leads to peace and fulfillment, never confusion or regret.

Lord, help me to endure the process with patience and faith, until I enter into the wealthy place You have prepared for me, in the Name of Christ Jesus. Amen.
