The Influence of a Godly Mother
Behind every great servant of God is often the unseen hand of a godly mother. Abraham Lincoln once said, “No man is poor who has a godly mother.” Truly, one of life’s greatest blessings is to be nurtured by a mother who fears the Lord.
In the story of Timothy, we see the undeniable influence of his mother Eunice and his grandmother Lois. Their sincere faith and devotion shaped Timothy into a faithful servant of Christ and a young leader Paul could trust.
Passing on Genuine Faith
Paul reminds us that Timothy’s faith was not accidental—it was passed down. His grandmother and mother instructed him in the Holy Scriptures from childhood (2 Timothy 3:14–17). Their consistent teaching and living example planted seeds of faith that grew strong in Timothy’s heart.
This reminds us that true faith is not just taught but caught. Children imitate what they see. When a mother walks with Christ daily—spending time in prayer, meditating on the Word, and living with sincerity—her children are more likely to embrace that same faith.
The Calling of Mothers Today
Every Christian mother has the divine assignment to:
